New Engine Option

Since early in the Hummingbird program a General Motors all aluminum engine was available as an optional powerplant. As an alternate fuel option we are making available again the all new small block LS7 engine by General Motors. All aluminum and 427 cubic inches this engine makes 505 horsepower at 6300 rpm. Installed in the Hummingbird the LS7 is only running at 3400 rpm. Designed to use 91 octane automobile fuel, consumption is 9 gallons per hour giving the Hummingbird a 570 mile range.

This engine is unique in that it is hand built by the GM Performance Department and specially modified for use in the Hummingbird. Using the best 2008 technology the LS7 has titanium connecting rods, titanium valves, roller camshaft and rockers, all aluminum 6 bolt block and composite intake manifold. Dual computers are installed for electronic redundancy that manage the variable ignition timing and fuel injection. A glass cockpit display panel offers engine health monitoring and can be individually configured for additional visual and audio functions. This is real FADEC technology designed by the best engineers in the world. Air conditioning and heating systems are available as well as electronic throttle governor. This basic engine is currently in a FAA certification program in another application. We are making it available again as an optional powerplant using automobile fuel! To find out more about the LS7 in the Hummingbird please call or contact our sales department.
